KA Cheer Competition   

Kiski Area cheerleaders, coaches and booster parents hosted their 5th annual Fall Frenzy cheerleading competition at Kiski Area High School on November 22, 2008. The competition included 20 teams and over 300 cheerleaders from neighboring counties.

Divisions ranged from Youth Pee Wee to Large High School Varsity. In addition to division competitions, there were various other competitions including a jump off, tumble off and a lib contest. Awards were also given to the team with the most spirit, best choreography and an overall grand champion, which was the team with the highest overall score.

Winners included:
Youth Pee Wee – West Mifflin (1st)
Youth Elementary – Saltsburg (1st), West Mifflin (2nd) and Blairsville (3rd)
Junior High – Kittanning (1st), Shaler (2nd), Leechburg (3rd)
Junior Varsity – Kittanning (1st)
Small Varsity – Plum (1st), Quigley (2nd), Kittanning (3rd)
Large Varsity – Shaler (1st), Saltsburg (2nd), Canon McMillan (3rd)
High School Non-Tumbling – Avonworth (1st), Riverview (2nd)
Spirit Award – West Mifflin
Choreography – Saltsburg Varsity
Lib Contest – Leechburg
Grand Champion Award – Shaler Varsity

The competition included vendors, concessions, a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle. Kiski Area Cheer and Competition Squads performed as exhibition at the competition.
